Green Hemp Protein Smoothie | Vegan & 25g Protein

This hemp protein smoothie is creamy, refreshing, and naturally sweet with subtle notes of orange and ginger. The combination of frozen mango, fresh orange juice, banana, and dates balances the earthy taste of hemp protein powder while hulled hemp seeds add richness and a silky smooth texture. This green protein smoothie is made with both hemp protein powder and hulled hemp seeds for the best taste and texture. I originally tried using four tablespoons of hemp protein powder alone, but found it created a strong earthy bitterness.

Using two tablespoons of hemp protein powder along with two tablespoons of hemp seeds delivered a balanced flavor while still providing a full 25 grams of plant based protein. It blends smoothly and has enough natural sweetness to disguise the strong hemp taste while still letting the citrus and ginger shine.

  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 cup raw spinach
  • ½ cup unsweetened soy milk
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoon hulled hemp seeds
  • ½ tablespoon fresh ginger root
  • 3 dried dates
  • ½ banana
  • 2 tablespoon hemp protein powder
  • ⅓ cup ice

How to Make the Green Smoothie with Hemp Protein

  1. Place the spinach in the bottom of a high speed blender so it blends more easily.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients on top.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Optional Add Ins

Add extra dates or banana if you want more sweetness.
