This vibrant beet strawberry smoothie is the perfect balance of hydrating, cleansing, and naturally sweet. Made with a handful of nutrient-dense ingredients, this smoothie delivers a subtle beet flavor while highlighting the refreshing taste of strawberries, mango, and lemon. With just half a banana and the perfect amount of coconut water, it’s ultra-light and energizing without being overly sweet or earthy.

Half a banana is added for additional creaminess, but does not overpower the smoothie with banana flavor and instead lets the other flavors shine through. If you're looking for a way to enjoy beets without the overpowering taste of beet or banana, this beet and strawberry smoothie is for you!

It’s a delicious, antioxidant-rich smoothie that helps hydrate the body thanks to electrolytes found in coconut water. This beet and strawberry smoothie is refreshing, cleansing, and perfect for a hot day.

Despite containing beets, this beet smoothie doesn’t have a strong earthy flavor. The natural sweetness of strawberries, mango, and banana gently balances the beets, while lemon juice adds a bright, refreshing lift. The result is a vibrant pink smoothie packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients from both beets and strawberries.

If you’re looking for a liver cleansing and hydrating smoothie that’s low in fat and easy to enjoy, this beet root smoothie is a great option. It’s light, refreshing, and designed for anyone who wants the benefits of beets without an overpowering taste.

The first time my little girl tried this smoothie, she didn’t enjoy it because she knew it had beets in it. Months later, when I made it again and simply mentioned the strawberries and mango, she happily drank it and asked for more. It’s a great reminder that how we think about ingredients can change how we experience them.

Beet Strawberry Smoothie Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • ¼ cup raw beets, peeled and chopped
  • ½ banana
  • ½ cup frozen mango
  • ¾ cup coconut water
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Be sure to peel the skin off the raw beets before blending for the best flavor.
  2. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  3. Blend until smooth and vibrant.
  4. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!

Smoothie Tips and Substitutions

  • You can enjoy this beet strawberry smoothie exactly as it is, but here are a few optional tweaks to suit your taste:
  • For a smoother, creamier texture and slightly less sweet flavor, add ⅓ cup unsweetened soy milk in place of some of the coconut water. Soy milk balances the earthy and tangy flavors without overpowering the fruit.

Pro Tip: Always peel the skin off your beets before blending to avoid bitterness and bring out their best flavor.

Fun Fact: This study found that drinking beetroot juice daily for 12 weeks significantly improved liver health in adults with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). When combined with a Mediterranean diet, the effects were even better!

Participants in the study who consumed beet juice saw a drop in liver enzymes, cholesterol, and fat buildup in the liver, which are all signs of improved liver function. Beetroot juice on its own also showed strong benefits, making it a promising natural option to support liver health.

Enjoy this strawberry beetroot smoothie whenever you're craving something light, hydrating, and refreshing. It's perfect for sunny days and a great option for anyone looking to support their liver health naturally with the cleansing power of beets.
